Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Utilities and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.50%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF), which rose 1.81% or 0.43 points to trade at 24.17 at the close. Recordati (BIT:RECI) added 0.93% or 0.46 points to end at 49.70 and Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) was up 0.92% or 0.31 points to 34.00 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Hera (BIT:HRA), which lost 2.31% or 0.08 points to trade at 3.38 in late trade. A2A SpA (BIT:A2) declined 2.25% or 0.05 points to end at 1.93 and Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (BIT:UNPI) shed 2.14% or 0.20 points to 9.15.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 279 to 227 and 43 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 0.21% or 0.16 to $75.39 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August fell 0.41% or 0.33 to hit $79.54 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 2.81% or 67.30 to trade at $2,323.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.72% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.24% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.73% at 104.82.
