Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Chemicals, Industrials and Technology sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 lost 0.43%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Bper Banca SpA (BIT:EMII), which rose 1.47% or 0.08 points to trade at 5.51 at the close. Italgas SpA (BIT:IG) added 1.11% or 0.05 points to end at 4.90 and Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) was up 0.98% or 0.05 points to 5.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iveco Group NV (BIT:IVG), which lost 14.53% or 1.71 points to trade at 10.06 in late trade. Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) declined 4.92% or 0.12 points to end at 2.30 and Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) shed 4.03% or 0.93 points to 22.15.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 309 to 178 and 50 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.95% or 0.73 to $77.69 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.94% or 0.76 to hit $81.77 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract rose 0.62% or 14.90 to trade at $2,422.20 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.21% at 103.96.
