Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Financials, Travel & Leisure and Chemicals sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.41%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which rose 1.35% or 0.224 points to trade at 16.804 at the close. Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) added 1.22% or 0.09 points to end at 7.13 and Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI) was up 1.14% or 0.09 points to 7.54 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU), which lost 3.51% or 0.72 points to trade at 19.91 in late trade. Intesa Sanpaolo (MI:ISP) declined 1.62% or 0.040 points to end at 2.424 and UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) shed 1.59% or 0.2260 points to 13.9440.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 196 to 148 and 42 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.09% or 0.06 to $67.81 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September fell 0.66% or 0.48 to hit $72.42 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.92% or 11.30 to trade at $1216.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.28% to 1.1606, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.8937.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.43% at 95.25.
