Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Healthcare, Chemicals and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 fell 0.15%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (BIT:UNPI), which rose 1.95% or 0.18 points to trade at 9.41 at the close. Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) added 1.67% or 0.03 points to end at 1.83 and Italgas SpA (BIT:IG) was up 1.46% or 0.08 points to 5.22 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Mediobanca Banca di Credito Finanziario SpA (BIT:MDBI), which lost 1.64% or 0.25 points to trade at 14.69 in late trade. Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) declined 1.55% or 0.43 points to end at 27.37 and Nexi SpA (BIT:NEXII) shed 1.16% or 0.07 points to 6.31.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 268 to 198 and 44 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was up 2.16% or 1.42 to $67.17 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November rose 1.69% or 1.17 to hit $70.36 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.02% or 0.40 to trade at $2,543.50 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.32% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 101.67.
