Investing.com – Italy equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Technology, Oil & Gas and Industrials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 declined 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Banco Bpm SpA (BIT:BAMI), which rose 1.22% or 0.09 points to trade at 7.77 at the close. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (BIT:BMPS) added 1.17% or 0.07 points to end at 6.39 and Stellantis NV (BIT:STLAM) was up 0.97% or 0.13 points to 13.27 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Brunello Cucinelli (BIT:BCU), which lost 1.32% or 1.30 points to trade at 97.55 in late trade. STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) declined 1.26% or 0.32 points to end at 25.01 and Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) shed 1.15% or 0.29 points to 24.86.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 265 to 235 and 59 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 0.83% or 0.57 to $68.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 0.62% or 0.45 to hit $72.59 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 1.18% or 31.64 to trade at $2,717.44 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.45% to 0.82.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.35% at 106.19.
