Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Chemicals, Technology and Industrials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB gained 0.18%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Salvatore Ferragamo (MILAN:SFER), which rose 3.66% or 1.01 points to trade at 28.57 at the close. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MILAN:FCHA) added 3.66% or 0.510 points to end at 14.460 and Finmeccanica (MILAN:SIFI) was up 2.96% or 0.330 points to 11.480 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS), which lost 16.82% or 0.3600 points to trade at 1.7800 in late trade. Enel Green Power (MILAN:EGPW) declined 1.72% or 0.029 points to end at 1.653 and Saipem (MILAN:SPMI) shed 1.07% or 0.13 points to 11.97.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 284 to 183 and 7 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 2.56% or 1.53 to $58.19 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 2.80% or 1.83 to hit $63.69 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 1.45% or 17.50 to trade at $1187.40 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.87% to 1.0883, while EUR/GBP fell 0.39% to 0.7068.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.89% at 97.32.
