Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Travel & Leisure, Chemicals and Healthcare sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB gained 0.04%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Saipem (MILAN:SPMI), which rose 3.43% or 0.42 points to trade at 12.66 at the close. Mediolanum (MILAN:MED) added 2.09% or 0.165 points to end at 8.060 and Azimut Holding (MILAN:AZMT) was up 1.92% or 0.54 points to 28.71 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Banca Pop Emilia Romagna (MILAN:EMII), which lost 2.09% or 0.165 points to trade at 7.720 in late trade. Telecom Italia (MILAN:TLIT) declined 1.79% or 0.019 points to end at 1.041 and Tod'S (MILAN:TOD) shed 1.42% or 1.20 points to 83.20.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 270 to 204 and 5 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was down 0.76% or 0.45 to $58.94 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.13% or 0.74 to hit $65.42 a barrel, while the June Gold contract fell 0.61% or 7.30 to trade at $1181.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.47% to 1.1148, while EUR/GBP fell 1.38% to 0.7152.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.24% at 95.14.
