Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Financials, Telecoms and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 gained 2.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which rose 10.01% or 0.3500 points to trade at 3.8450 at the close. Unione di Banche Italiane SpA (MI:UBI) added 6.41% or 0.1690 points to end at 2.8060 and UniCredit SpA (MI:CRDI) was up 5.54% or 0.6020 points to 11.4640 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Davide Campari Milano SpA (MI:CPRI), which lost 0.80% or 0.06 points to trade at 7.45 in late trade. Prysmian (MI:PRY) declined 0.63% or 0.10 points to end at 15.80 and Recordati (MI:RECI) gained 0.25% or 0.07 points to 27.99.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 289 to 67 and 28 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for January delivery was up 2.50% or 1.26 to $51.68 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in February rose 2.74% or 1.62 to hit $60.66 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.02% or 0.30 to trade at $1228.80 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.05% to 1.1342, while EUR/GBP fell 0.02% to 0.8846.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.05% at 96.877.
