Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Utilities, Chemicals and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 2.01%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediobanca (MI:MDBI), which rose 7.06% or 0.542 points to trade at 8.224 at the close. FinecoBank Banca Fineco SpA (MI:FBK) added 6.44% or 0.51 points to end at 8.47 and Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST) was up 4.19% or 0.294 points to 7.308 in late trade.
Biggest losers included CNH Industrial NV (MI:CNHI), which lost 1.37% or 0.140 points to trade at 10.105 in late trade. Yoox Net-A-Porter Group SpA (MI:YNAP) declined 0.11% or 0.04 points to end at 37.95 and Prysmian (MI:PRY) shed 0.04% or 0.01 points to 23.51.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 266 to 110 and 14 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was up 2.35% or 1.57 to $68.30 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in August rose 2.70% or 2.04 to hit $77.53 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract rose 0.12% or 1.60 to trade at $1300.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 1.04% to 1.1656, while EUR/GBP rose 0.83% to 0.8779.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.77% at 94.08.
