Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Technology, Financials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.69%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset (MI:MS), which rose 3.48% or 0.095 points to trade at 2.825 at the close. Freni Brembo SpA (MI:BRBI) added 2.77% or 0.33 points to end at 12.25 and Leonardo SpA (MI:LDOF) was up 1.99% or 0.182 points to 9.308 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Recordati (MI:RECI), which lost 2.24% or 0.69 points to trade at 30.05 in late trade. Buzzi Unicem (MI:BZU) declined 0.49% or 0.10 points to end at 20.49 and Tenaris (MI:TENR) shed 0.41% or 0.07 points to 15.86.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 203 to 141 and 35 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was down 0.07% or 0.05 to $67.02 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in September rose 0.42% or 0.30 to hit $72.14 a barrel, while the August Gold Futures contract fell 0.97% or 12.00 to trade at $1227.70 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.1657, while EUR/GBP rose 0.28% to 0.8873.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.51% at 94.75.
