Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Technology, Telecoms and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 added 0.67%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Mediaset SpA (MI:MS), which rose 4.36% or 0.116 points to trade at 2.777 at the close. Prysmian (MI:PRY) added 3.47% or 0.59 points to end at 17.75 and STMicroelectronics (MI:STM) was up 3.25% or 0.435 points to 13.835 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Saipem SpA (MI:SPMI), which lost 3.41% or 0.1650 points to trade at 4.6700 in late trade. ENI (MI:ENI) declined 1.78% or 0.28 points to end at 15.43 and Pirelli & C SPA (MI:PIRC) shed 0.74% or 0.05 points to 6.45.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 210 to 115 and 35 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for December delivery was down 2.82% or 1.84 to $63.47 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in January fell 3.43% or 2.59 to hit $72.88 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.84% or 22.30 to trade at $1234.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was up 0.73% to 1.1395, while EUR/GBP fell 1.05% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.73% at 96.19.
