Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Travel & Leisure, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.32%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Tenaris (MI:TENR), which rose 2.37% or 0.36 points to trade at 15.57 at the close. Poste Italiane SpA (MI:PST) added 1.68% or 0.134 points to end at 8.106 and Salvatore Ferragamo (MI:SFER) was up 1.62% or 0.39 points to 24.52 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV (MI:FCHA), which lost 2.18% or 0.414 points to trade at 18.570 in late trade. Mediobanca (MI:MDBI) declined 0.64% or 0.065 points to end at 10.065 and Telecom Italia (MI:TLIT) shed 0.53% or 0.0044 points to 0.8182.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 201 to 151 and 32 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.75% or 0.51 to $68.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July rose 1.69% or 1.25 to hit $75.04 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.44% or 5.80 to trade at $1317.60 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.30% to 1.2094, while EUR/GBP fell 0.18% to 0.8785.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.23% at 91.52.
