Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Healthcare, Industrials and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.30%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were DiaSorin SpA (BIT:DIAS), which rose 2.63% or 2.70 points to trade at 105.30 at the close. Recordati (BIT:RECI) added 2.63% or 1.35 points to end at 52.75 and Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF) was up 2.20% or 0.49 points to 22.74 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tenaris SA (BIT:TENR), which lost 1.65% or 0.21 points to trade at 12.49 in late trade. Saipem SpA (BIT:SPMI) declined 1.08% or 0.02 points to end at 2.02 and STMicroelectronics (BIT:STMMI) shed 0.89% or 0.25 points to 27.76.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 250 to 217 and 53 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for October delivery was down 1.10% or 0.83 to $74.70 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 1.12% or 0.88 to hit $77.78 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract fell 0.50% or 12.75 to trade at $2,540.15 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.57% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.01% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 100.95.
