Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Chemicals, Industrials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the Investing.com Italy 40 rose 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Investing.com Italy 40 were Leonardo SpA (BIT:LDOF), which rose 2.32% or 0.49 points to trade at 21.65 at the close. Banca Mediolanum SpA (BIT:BMED) added 2.02% or 0.20 points to end at 10.10 and Nexi SpA (BIT:NEXII) was up 1.91% or 0.11 points to 5.65 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Assicurazioni Generali SpA (BIT:GASI), which lost 1.90% or 0.43 points to trade at 22.15 in late trade. Unipol Gruppo Finanziario Spa (BIT:UNPI) declined 1.32% or 0.12 points to end at 8.97 and Amplifon (BIT:AMPF) shed 1.24% or 0.35 points to 27.78.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 289 to 187 and 35 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for September delivery was up 0.55% or 0.42 to $76.61 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in October rose 0.39% or 0.31 to hit $79.47 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 0.29% or 7.25 to trade at $2,470.55 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.06% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.06% to 0.86.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.12% at 102.90.
