Investing.com – Italy equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Healthcare, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Milan, the FTSE MIB rose 0.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the FTSE MIB were Enel Green Power (MILAN:EGPW), which rose 2.82% or 0.049 points to trade at 1.784 at the close. Banca Monte dei Paschi di Siena SpA (MILAN:BMPS) added 2.66% or 0.0480 points to end at 1.8550 and Yoox (MILAN:YOOX) was up 1.91% or 0.58 points to 30.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Tenaris (MILAN:TENR), which lost 2.80% or 0.37 points to trade at 12.86 in late trade. Finmeccanica (MILAN:SIFI) declined 1.35% or 0.160 points to end at 11.670 and Exor (MILAN:EXOR) shed 1.32% or 0.58 points to 43.38.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 247 to 215 and 8 ended unchanged on the Milan Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for July delivery was down 1.51% or 0.93 to $60.50 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 1.30% or 0.85 to hit $64.84 a barrel, while the August Gold contract fell 0.65% or 7.70 to trade at $1178.90 a troy ounce.
EUR/USD was down 0.85% to 1.1228, while EUR/GBP fell 0.58% to 0.7250.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.70% at 95.25.
