Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Banking, Communication and Biomed sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 rose 0.84%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were Cellcom Israel Ltd (TA:CEL), which rose 6.81% or 160 points to trade at 2510 at the close. OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK) added 3.72% or 41 points to end at 1143 and ICL Israel Chemicals Ltd (TA:ICL) was up 3.31% or 53 points to 1655 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Sodastream International Ltd (TA:SODA), which lost 3.89% or 1320.0 points to trade at 32630.0 in late trade. Elbit Systems Ltd (TA:ESLT) declined 1.19% or 500 points to end at 41550 and First International Bank of Israel Ltd (TA:FTIN) shed 1.14% or 84 points to 7311.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 194 to 189 and 26 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for June delivery was up 0.25% or 0.17 to $67.42 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in July fell 0.30% or 0.22 to hit $72.91 a barrel, while the June Gold Futures contract fell 0.01% or 0.10 to trade at $1306.70 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was up 0.50% to 3.6275, while EUR/ILS rose 0.17% to 4.3367.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.25% at 92.51.
