Investing.com – Israel equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Biomed, Banking and Insurance sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Tel Aviv, the TA 35 gained 0.61%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the TA 35 were Teva Pharmaceutical Industries Ltd (TA:TEVA), which rose 3.64% or 252 points to trade at 7175 at the close. Tower Semiconductor Ltd (TA:TSEM) added 2.03% or 103 points to end at 5174 and Liveperson (TA:LPSN) was up 1.98% or 151 points to 7768 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Israel Discount Bank Ltd (TA:DSCT), which lost 1.31% or 16.0 points to trade at 1209.0 in late trade. OPKO Health Inc (TA:OPK) declined 0.87% or 12 points to end at 1361 and Bezeq Israeli Telecommunication Corp Ltd (TA:BEZQ) shed 0.84% or 2.7 points to 318.0.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 204 to 157 and 45 ended unchanged on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.26% or 0.14 to $52.87 a barrel. Meanwhile, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.05% or 0.03 to hit $61.47 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract fell 0.16% or 2.10 to trade at $1281.30 a troy ounce.
USD/ILS was down 0.10% to 3.6739, while EUR/ILS rose 0.09% to 4.1806.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.15% at 95.817.
