Here's How To Claim Your Share Of Verizon's $100M Settlement: Last Date, Claim Share And More

Benzinga - by Rounak Jain, Benzinga Staff Writer.

Verizon Communications Inc. (NYSE:VZ) has agreed to a $100 million settlement in a class-action lawsuit over the carrier's "Administrative and Telco Recovery Charge." The settlement website is now up, and eligible subscribers can file their claims.

What Happened: Verizon has set up a website that goes into the details of its $100 million settlement, including details of subscribers who are eligible to make a claim and more.

The class-action lawsuit, initiated in 2023, alleged that Verizon deceived subscribers by adding an additional "administrative charge" to which subscribers had not consented.

While Verizon has denied any wrongdoing on its part, the carrier has agreed to a settlement.

Who Is Eligible To File A Claim? According to the settlement website, current and former subscribers of Verizon's postpaid or wireless plans or both are eligible to file a claim.

Further, these subscribers should have been billed an "Administrative Charge" or "Administrative and Telco Recovery Charge."

These charges should have been levied between Jan. 1, 2016, and Nov. 8, 2023.

Last Date To File Claims The last date to file a claim in Verizon's $100 million settlement is Apr. 15, 2024.

You will not receive compensation if you have a claim but do not file it before this date. Further, you won't be able to sue Verizon in the future over the allegations addressed in this class-action lawsuit.

How Much Is The Payout? Eligible subscribers who file a claim within the due date will be eligible to receive a maximum of $100. The minimum payout has been set at $15.
