Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Banking, Household and Oil & Gas sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite fell 1.35%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Hygeia (AT:HYGr), which rose 6.80% or 0.010 points to trade at 0.154 at the close. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) added 6.36% or 0.007 points to end at 0.117 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was up 3.80% or 0.0370 points to 1.0100 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which lost 6.96% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.107 in late trade. Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) declined 5.88% or 0.220 points to end at 3.520 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 5.56% or 0.006 points to 0.102.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 53 to 37 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for August delivery was up 1.05% or 14.05 to $1353.05 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 0.33% or 0.16 to hit $48.83 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.46% or 0.23 to trade at $50.12 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.1138, while EUR/GBP fell 0.14% to 0.8382.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.07% at 95.65.
