Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Monday, as losses in the Travel, Utilities and Food sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite declined 0.27%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr), which rose 9.02% or 0.012 points to trade at 0.145 at the close. Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) added 7.69% or 0.025 points to end at 0.350 and Halcor (AT:XAKO) was up 3.67% or 0.015 points to 0.424 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which lost 9.74% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.139 in late trade. Iaso (AT:IASr) declined 5.35% or 0.023 points to end at 0.407 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) shed 4.59% or 0.0390 points to 0.8200.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 47 to 42 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.05% or 0.55 to $1161.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 3.61% or 1.86 to hit $53.36 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 3.53% or 1.92 to trade at $56.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.40% to 1.0598, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8370.
The US Dollar Index was down 0.30% at 101.30.
