Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Banking, Chemicals and Financials sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 2.37% to hit a new 6-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 9.87% or 0.015 points to trade at 0.167 at the close. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) added 9.09% or 0.5000 points to end at 6.0000 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 8.89% or 0.680 points to 8.330 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr), which lost 9.46% or 0.140 points to trade at 1.340 in late trade. Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr) declined 8.57% or 0.0120 points to end at 0.1280 and Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) shed 8.00% or 0.004 points to 0.046.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 28 and 4 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.21% or 2.72 to $1280.42 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.29% or 0.16 to hit $55.49 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.15% or 0.09 to trade at $61.96 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.16% to 1.1772, while EUR/GBP fell 0.40% to 0.8916.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.04% at 93.76.
