Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Banking, Healthcare and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 2.09%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 3.08% or 0.008 points to trade at 0.268 at the close. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) added 0.67% or 0.15 points to end at 22.55 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) was up 0.59% or 0.001 points to 0.170 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which lost 5.82% or 0.055 points to trade at 0.890 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 5.75% or 0.290 points to end at 4.750 and National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) shed 5.48% or 0.020 points to 0.345.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 82 to 20 and 11 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.52% or 6.85 to $1322.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 1.40% or 0.65 to hit $45.92 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.31% or 0.16 to trade at $51.26 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.35% to 1.2020, while EUR/GBP rose 0.33% to 0.9293.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.28% at 91.91.
