Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.80%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr), which rose 3.96% or 0.08 points to trade at 2.10 at the close. Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr) added 3.76% or 0.11 points to end at 2.90 and J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) was up 2.65% or 0.04 points to 1.55 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Jumbo SA (AT:BABr), which lost 2.83% or 0.74 points to trade at 25.38 in late trade. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 2.46% or 0.01 points to end at 0.34 and Greek Organisation of Football Prognostics SA (AT:OPAr) shed 2.41% or 0.38 points to 15.40.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 80 to 38 and 20 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.58% or 15.56 to $2,654.44 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 2.53% or 1.79 to hit $68.92 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.83% or 1.35 to trade at $72.56 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.10% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.30% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 106.61.
