Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.74%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which rose 5.84% or 0.80 points to trade at 14.50 at the close. Alumil (AT:ALMr) added 2.72% or 0.11 points to end at 3.96 and Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) was up 2.25% or 0.04 points to 1.82 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT:INLIFr), which lost 2.76% or 0.12 points to trade at 4.23 in late trade. Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr) declined 2.14% or 0.04 points to end at 1.74 and National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) shed 2.11% or 0.14 points to 6.67.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 52 and 23 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.50% or 13.24 to $2,678.04 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 1.06% or 0.73 to hit $69.45 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.38% or 0.28 to trade at $73.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.05% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.09% at 105.95.
