Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.73%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr), which rose 2.59% or 0.03 points to trade at 1.19 at the close. Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr) added 2.03% or 0.55 points to end at 27.65 and Premia AE (AT:PREMr) was up 1.29% or 0.02 points to 1.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr), which lost 3.98% or 0.39 points to trade at 9.40 in late trade. Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) declined 3.03% or 0.40 points to end at 12.80 and Titan Cement International SA (AT:TITCr) shed 2.58% or 0.90 points to 34.05.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 76 to 42 and 22 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.06% or 1.65 to $2,671.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 3.82% or 2.68 to hit $72.78 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 3.46% or 2.56 to trade at $76.46 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.24% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP rose 1.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.36% at 101.79.
