Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.72%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Interlife General Insurance Company SA (AT:INLIFr), which rose 1.46% or 0.07 points to trade at 4.86 at the close. Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) added 1.17% or 0.06 points to end at 5.18 and Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) was up 1.13% or 0.15 points to 13.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr), which lost 3.11% or 0.06 points to trade at 1.87 in late trade. Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr) declined 2.73% or 0.09 points to end at 3.21 and Intrakat Technikon Kai Energeiakon Ergon AE (AT:INCr) shed 2.41% or 0.12 points to 4.85.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 82 to 29 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.22% or 5.75 to $2,598.15 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.27% or 0.19 to hit $69.77 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.38% or 0.28 to trade at $73.42 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.04% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.37% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 100.60.
