Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Banking sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.56%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr), which rose 4.22% or 0.07 points to trade at 1.73 at the close. Jumbo SA (AT:BABr) added 2.10% or 0.54 points to end at 26.20 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was up 1.81% or 0.01 points to 0.31 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT:BOCHGRr), which lost 10.52% or 0.51 points to trade at 4.34 in late trade. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 2.99% or 0.32 points to end at 10.38 and National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) shed 1.95% or 0.15 points to 7.44.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 64 to 49 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.22% or 5.90 to $2,629.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 1.24% or 0.91 to hit $72.66 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 1.36% or 1.05 to trade at $76.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.31% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.28% at 102.59.
