Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Thursday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.54%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr), which rose 2.02% or 0.04 points to trade at 1.77 at the close. Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT:BOCHGRr) added 1.61% or 0.07 points to end at 4.41 and Autohellas (AT:AUTr) was up 0.96% or 0.10 points to 10.48 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which lost 8.41% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.28 in late trade. Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr) declined 4.19% or 0.13 points to end at 2.86 and Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr) shed 3.05% or 0.29 points to 9.21.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 84 to 33 and 20 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.57% or 14.95 to $2,640.95 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 2.21% or 1.62 to hit $74.86 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 2.25% or 1.72 to trade at $78.30 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.15% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.00% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 102.77.
