Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Basic Resources, Chemicals and Travel sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.25%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which rose 4.84% or 0.600 points to trade at 13.000 at the close. Centric Hold (AT:DESr) added 3.44% or 0.005 points to end at 0.166 and Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) was up 3.06% or 0.59 points to 19.89 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Grivalia Properties REIC (AT:GRIr), which lost 3.21% or 0.29 points to trade at 8.75 in late trade. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) declined 2.92% or 0.100 points to end at 3.320 and Public Power (AT:DEHr) shed 2.85% or 0.08 points to 2.73.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 60 to 58 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.27% or 3.50 to $1314.30 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April rose 1.55% or 0.95 to hit $62.14 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 1.18% or 0.77 to trade at $65.89 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.2287, while EUR/GBP fell 0.03% to 0.8826.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.10% at 90.23.
