Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.24%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr), which rose 3.00% or 0.06 points to trade at 2.06 at the close. Intralot (AT:INLr) added 1.77% or 0.02 points to end at 1.15 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) was up 1.74% or 0.07 points to 3.81 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr), which lost 2.58% or 0.56 points to trade at 21.14 in late trade. Athens Water (AT:EYDr) declined 2.48% or 0.14 points to end at 5.51 and Hellenic Telecommunications Organization SA (AT:OTEr) shed 2.14% or 0.32 points to 14.62.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 75 to 43 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.04% or 26.20 to $2,542.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.70% or 1.24 to hit $74.25 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.52% or 1.17 to trade at $78.39 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.59% to 1.12, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.16% to 0.85.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.64% at 100.75.
