Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Friday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr), which rose 2.77% or 0.36 points to trade at 13.34 at the close. Athens Water (AT:EYDr) added 2.66% or 0.15 points to end at 5.79 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) was up 2.10% or 0.11 points to 5.36 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr), which lost 2.47% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.79 in late trade. Motor Oil Hellas Corinth Refineries SA (AT:MORr) declined 2.33% or 0.50 points to end at 20.92 and Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) shed 1.85% or 0.04 points to 1.86.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 66 to 50 and 21 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.00% or 26.05 to $2,640.65 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 0.38% or 0.27 to hit $70.89 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract fell 0.47% or 0.35 to trade at $74.53 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.13% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.31% at 100.63.
