Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Wednesday, as losses in the Retail, Industrials and Household sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite fell 0.20% to hit a new 1-month low.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 29.88% or 0.0245 points to trade at 0.1065 at the close. Nireus Aqua (AT:NIRr) added 25.97% or 0.040 points to end at 0.194 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) was up 5.75% or 0.006 points to 0.107 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Intralot (AT:INLr), which lost 4.12% or 0.040 points to trade at 0.931 in late trade. Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr) declined 3.79% or 0.0500 points to end at 1.2700 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) shed 3.79% or 0.050 points to 1.270.
Declining stocks outnumbered rising ones by 64 to 39 and 20 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.30% or 3.70 to $1257.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in August rose 0.11% or 0.08 to hit $74.22 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract rose 0.24% or 0.19 to trade at $77.95 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.15% to 1.1640, while EUR/GBP fell 0.27% to 0.8810.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 94.38.
