Investing.com – Greece equities were lower at the close on Tuesday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Retail and Utilities sectors propelled shares lower.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite declined 0.14%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Select Textile (AT:EPIr), which rose 6.71% or 0.011 points to trade at 0.175 at the close. Hygeia (AT:HYGr) added 6.06% or 0.038 points to end at 0.665 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 3.73% or 0.110 points to 3.060 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Terna Energy (AT:TENr), which lost 2.62% or 0.120 points to trade at 4.460 in late trade. Autohellas (AT:AUTr) declined 2.56% or 0.60 points to end at 22.80 and Hellenic Petroleum SA (AT:HEPr) shed 2.11% or 0.160 points to 7.440.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 57 to 55 and 14 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.17% or 2.10 to $1263.40 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 0.21% or 0.12 to hit $57.34 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.17% or 0.11 to trade at $63.52 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.24% to 1.1810, while EUR/GBP rose 0.55% to 0.8850.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.03% at 93.26.
