Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Utilities, Industrials and Construction sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General-Composite added 0.12%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General-Composite were National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr), which rose 4.55% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.23 at the close. Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) added 3.43% or 0.070 points to end at 2.110 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was up 2.79% or 0.017 points to 0.626 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which lost 3.24% or 0.0270 points to trade at 0.8290 in late trade. Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) declined 2.44% or 0.150 points to end at 6.000 and Marfin Invest (AT:MRFr) shed 2.33% or 0.003 points to 0.126.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 55 to 43 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold for February delivery was down 0.34% or 4.00 to $1172.50 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 1.95% or 1.01 to hit $50.78 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract fell 1.75% or 0.96 to trade at $53.98 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.34% to 1.0727, while EUR/GBP fell 0.13% to 0.8442.
The US Dollar Index was up 0.26% at 100.42.
