Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Telecoms, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 2.51%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 6.06% or 0.0400 points to trade at 0.7000 at the close. Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) added 6.05% or 0.126 points to end at 2.210 and Hellenic Telec (AT:OTEr) was up 4.97% or 0.51 points to 10.77 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr), which lost 2.55% or 0.035 points to trade at 1.335 in late trade. J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr) declined 2.17% or 0.009 points to end at 0.406 and Sarantiseg (AT:SRSr) shed 1.66% or 0.12 points to 7.10.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 82 to 25 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.12% or 1.50 to $1201.90 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 0.16% or 0.11 to hit $67.86 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 0.66% or 0.51 to trade at $77.34 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.46% to 1.1606, while EUR/GBP fell 0.37% to 0.8911.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.36% at 95.04.
