Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 2.21%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr), which rose 5.50% or 0.11 points to trade at 2.11 at the close. Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) added 4.91% or 0.07 points to end at 1.54 and Piraeus Bank SA (AT:BOPr) was up 4.76% or 0.17 points to 3.63 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr), which lost 1.58% or 0.05 points to trade at 2.81 in late trade. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) unchanged 1.53% or 0.00 points to end at 0.29 and Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) shed 1.05% or 0.15 points to 14.15.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 80 to 33 and 22 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.58% or 15.66 to $2,665.34 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.49% or 0.33 to hit $68.33 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.40% or 0.29 to trade at $72.13 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.03% to 1.05, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.18% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.81% at 106.68.
