Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.37%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Jumbo SA (AT:BABr), which rose 4.02% or 1.01 points to trade at 26.13 at the close. Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) added 3.13% or 0.40 points to end at 13.20 and Lamda Develop (AT:LMDr) was up 3.09% or 0.23 points to 7.68 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which lost 3.95% or 0.60 points to trade at 14.60 in late trade. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) declined 3.94% or 0.01 points to end at 0.32 and Centric Hold (AT:DESr) shed 1.75% or 0.01 points to 0.34.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 77 to 44 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.07% or 2.00 to $2,681.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.84% or 0.62 to hit $74.33 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.79% or 0.61 to trade at $78.23 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.52% to 1.10, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.42% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.49% at 102.25.
