Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.32% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr), which rose 8.15% or 0.22 points to trade at 2.92 at the close. Lavipharm SA (AT:LPHr) added 6.33% or 0.05 points to end at 0.77 and Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) was up 4.37% or 0.08 points to 1.91 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Thessaloniki Port Authority SA (AT:OLTr), which lost 2.69% or 0.60 points to trade at 21.70 in late trade. Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) declined 1.27% or 0.05 points to end at 3.89 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) shed 1.09% or 0.02 points to 1.82.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 98 to 25 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.48% or 12.79 to $2,663.41 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 0.58% or 0.40 to hit $68.94 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 0.55% or 0.40 to trade at $72.71 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.57% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.12% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.41% at 105.86.
