Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 1.22%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were J. & P. Avax (AT:AVAr), which rose 8.64% or 0.12 points to trade at 1.46 at the close. Intracom Holdings SA (AT:INRr) added 4.65% or 0.14 points to end at 3.15 and National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) was up 4.46% or 0.32 points to 7.50 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Optima bank SA (AT:OPTIMAr), which lost 2.55% or 0.34 points to trade at 13.00 in late trade. Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr) declined 1.31% or 0.13 points to end at 9.77 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) shed 0.93% or 0.05 points to 5.31.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 75 to 39 and 27 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.36% or 9.65 to $2,655.85 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.23% or 0.16 to hit $71.16 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.19% or 0.14 to trade at $73.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.29% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.51% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.11% at 100.53.
