Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Oil & Gas, Banking and Financials sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 1.06% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr), which rose 9.76% or 0.200 points to trade at 2.250 at the close. Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) added 8.76% or 0.3600 points to end at 4.4700 and Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) was up 8.18% or 0.045 points to 0.600 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr), which lost 4.17% or 0.3000 points to trade at 6.9000 in late trade. Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) declined 1.90% or 0.008 points to end at 0.412 and Iaso (AT:IASr) shed 1.44% or 0.014 points to 0.960.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 71 to 43 and 17 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for June delivery was down 0.73% or 9.70 to $1313.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in June rose 0.26% or 0.18 to hit $68.28 a barrel, while the July Brent oil contract rose 0.72% or 0.53 to trade at $74.32 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.48% to 1.2073, while EUR/GBP fell 0.33% to 0.8772.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.38% at 91.66.
