Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.88%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Elvalhalcor Hellenic Copper and Aluminium Industry SA (AT:ELHA), which rose 3.89% or 0.07 points to trade at 1.87 at the close. Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) added 3.63% or 0.14 points to end at 4.00 and Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) was up 3.33% or 0.40 points to 12.40 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Premia AE (AT:PREMr), which lost 0.85% or 0.01 points to trade at 1.17 in late trade. Biokarpet Industrial and Commercial Enterprises SA (AT:ALBr) declined 0.77% or 0.02 points to end at 1.93 and Alumil (AT:ALMr) shed 0.70% or 0.02 points to 2.84.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 76 to 47 and 16 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 1.01% or 26.15 to $2,606.75 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.65% or 1.14 to hit $70.11 a barrel, while the November Brent oil contract rose 1.51% or 1.09 to trade at $73.06 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.14% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.07% to 0.84.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.37% at 100.97.
