Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.87%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Public Power (AT:DEHr), which rose 4.21% or 0.48 points to trade at 11.88 at the close. Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) added 4.10% or 0.21 points to end at 5.33 and Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr) was up 2.52% or 0.04 points to 1.51 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Bank of Cyprus Holdings PLC (AT:BOCHGRr), which lost 1.83% or 0.08 points to trade at 4.30 in late trade. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 0.82% or 0.02 points to end at 2.41 and Premia AE (AT:PREMr) shed 0.67% or 0.01 points to 1.18.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 80 to 37 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.55% or 14.75 to $2,680.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November fell 4.97% or 3.67 to hit $70.16 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract fell 4.67% or 3.62 to trade at $73.84 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.09, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.28% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.18% at 102.90.
