Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.80% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which rose 4.83% or 0.70 points to trade at 15.20 at the close. Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr) added 4.73% or 0.06 points to end at 1.24 and Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr) was up 2.99% or 0.01 points to 0.38 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Profile Syst (AT:PRFr), which lost 1.66% or 0.09 points to trade at 5.33 in late trade. Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) declined 1.45% or 0.14 points to end at 9.53 and Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr) shed 1.13% or 0.06 points to 5.25.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 74 to 46 and 18 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.64% or 16.85 to $2,669.35 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 1.59% or 1.12 to hit $71.49 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 1.52% or 1.11 to trade at $74.32 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.33% to 1.11, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.04% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 100.32.
