Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Basic Resources, Financials and Telecoms sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.76%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which rose 5.79% or 0.0110 points to trade at 0.2010 at the close. Select Textile (AT:EPIr) added 4.27% or 0.010 points to end at 0.244 and Athens Medical (AT:AMCr) was up 3.15% or 0.040 points to 1.280 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Crete Plastics SA (AT:PLAKR), which lost 2.42% or 0.300 points to trade at 12.000 in late trade. Hygeia (AT:HYGr) declined 1.76% or 0.012 points to end at 0.670 and Revoil Petrol (AT:REVr) shed 1.67% or 0.010 points to 0.590.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 62 to 51 and 12 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for April delivery was up 1.49% or 19.70 to $1339.60 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.14% or 0.09 to hit $62.48 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract rose 0.06% or 0.04 to trade at $65.58 a barrel.
EUR/USD was up 0.67% to 1.2419, while EUR/GBP rose 0.35% to 0.8938.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.53% at 89.48.
