Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Wednesday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Technology sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.64%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which rose 5.35% or 0.02 points to trade at 0.31 at the close. Kri-Kri Milk (AT:KRIr) added 3.66% or 0.50 points to end at 14.15 and Titan Cement International SA (AT:TITCr) was up 2.73% or 0.90 points to 33.90 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Piraeus Port (AT:OLPr), which lost 3.45% or 1.00 points to trade at 28.00 in late trade. Intralot (AT:INLr) declined 3.05% or 0.03 points to end at 0.99 and Fourlis Hld (AT:FRLr) shed 1.88% or 0.07 points to 3.65.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 64 to 46 and 30 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 2.42% or 66.50 to $2,683.20 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in December rose 0.63% or 0.45 to hit $72.44 a barrel, while the January Brent oil contract rose 0.33% or 0.25 to trade at $75.78 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 1.79% to 1.07, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.57% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 1.60% at 104.98.
