Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Tuesday, as gains in the Banking, Industrials and Food sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite rose 0.63%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Alpha Bank SA (AT:ACBr), which rose 3.79% or 0.080 points to trade at 2.190 at the close. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) added 2.82% or 0.010 points to end at 0.365 and Eurobank Ergasias SA (AT:EURBr) was up 2.65% or 0.024 points to 0.929 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 3.42% or 0.0080 points to trade at 0.2250 in late trade. Flexopack SA (AT:FLXr) declined 2.99% or 0.1400 points to end at 4.5500 and Elton S.A. (AT:ELNr) shed 2.14% or 0.030 points to 1.370.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 52 to 46 and 15 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.32% or 4.13 to $1292.57 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in October rose 1.12% or 0.53 to hit $48.06 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract rose 1.05% or 0.54 to trade at $52.20 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.45% to 1.1763, while EUR/GBP rose 0.05% to 0.9164.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.39% at 93.36.
