Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Thursday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.60%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Elinoil Hellenic Petroleum Company SA (AT:ELIr), which rose 4.88% or 0.10 points to trade at 2.15 at the close. Alumil (AT:ALMr) added 3.36% or 0.11 points to end at 3.23 and Thrace Plastic (AT:THRr) was up 3.01% or 0.11 points to 3.76 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Quest Holdings (AT:IQTr), which lost 1.97% or 0.11 points to trade at 5.48 in late trade. Domiki Kritis SA (AT:DKRr) declined 1.77% or 0.05 points to end at 2.77 and Profile Syst (AT:PRFr) shed 1.67% or 0.09 points to 5.30.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 68 to 49 and 19 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was up 0.72% or 19.40 to $2,710.70 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in November rose 0.27% or 0.19 to hit $70.58 a barrel, while the December Brent oil contract rose 0.04% or 0.03 to trade at $74.25 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.36% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.44% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.21% at 103.62.
