Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Friday, as gains in the Construction, Travel and Banking sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.59%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Ellaktor SA (AT:HELr), which rose 9.64% or 0.19 points to trade at 2.16 at the close. HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings SA (AT:HEPr) added 3.76% or 0.27 points to end at 7.46 and Dimand Societe Anonyme for Real Estate Constructions (AT:DIMANDr) was up 3.25% or 0.26 points to 8.26 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Iktinos Hellas (AT:IKTr), which lost 2.38% or 0.01 points to trade at 0.33 in late trade. Ekter (AT:EKTr) declined 2.20% or 0.04 points to end at 1.78 and Cars Motorcycles and Marine Engine Trade and Import Company SA (AT:MTDr) shed 2.04% or 0.06 points to 2.63.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 73 to 45 and 22 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was down 0.75% or 19.96 to $2,633.94 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in February rose 1.02% or 0.71 to hit $70.33 a barrel, while the March Brent oil contract rose 0.89% or 0.65 to trade at $73.50 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.03% to 1.04, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.35% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.10% at 107.78.
