Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Construction and Travel sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite gained 0.58% to hit a new 1-month high.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Quality and Reliability SA (AT:QUAr), which rose 7.86% or 0.09 points to trade at 1.21 at the close. National Bank of Greece SA (AT:NBGr) added 3.83% or 0.29 points to end at 7.75 and HELLENiQ ENERGY Holdings SA (AT:HEPr) was up 3.41% or 0.24 points to 7.14 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Cenergy Holdings SA (AT:CENEr), which lost 1.85% or 0.17 points to trade at 9.00 in late trade. Coca Cola HBC AG (AT:EEEr) declined 1.81% or 0.62 points to end at 33.62 and Athens Water (AT:EYDr) shed 1.19% or 0.07 points to 5.83.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 77 to 37 and 25 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for February delivery was up 1.20% or 31.84 to $2,691.44 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in January rose 2.23% or 1.50 to hit $68.70 a barrel, while the February Brent oil contract rose 1.91% or 1.36 to trade at $72.48 a barrel.
EUR/USD was unchanged 0.17% to 1.06, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.22% to 0.83.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.19% at 105.53.
