Investing.com – Greece equities were higher at the close on Monday, as gains in the Banking, Telecoms and Utilities sectors propelled shares higher.
At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite added 0.53%.
The biggest gainers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Centric Hold (AT:DESr), which rose 4.29% or 0.007 points to trade at 0.170 at the close. National Bank of Greece (AT:NBGr) added 3.40% or 0.012 points to end at 0.365 and Attica Bank SA (AT:BOAr) was up 3.00% or 0.003 points to 0.103 in late trade.
Biggest losers included Selonda Aquaculture SA (AT:SELr), which lost 5.83% or 0.0140 points to trade at 0.2260 in late trade. Iaso (AT:IASr) declined 3.09% or 0.025 points to end at 0.785 and Papoutsanis (AT:PSALr) shed 2.87% or 0.009 points to 0.305.
Advancing stocks outnumbered falling ones by 67 to 30 and 13 ended unchanged on the Athens Stock Exchange.
In commodities trading, Gold Futures for December delivery was down 0.30% or 3.90 to $1290.10 a troy ounce. Meanwhile, Crude oil for delivery in September fell 0.25% or 0.12 to hit $48.70 a barrel, while the October Brent oil contract fell 0.52% or 0.27 to trade at $51.83 a barrel.
EUR/USD was down 0.33% to 1.1783, while EUR/GBP fell 0.12% to 0.9076.
The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.29% at 93.26.
